The exhibition Encuentros en la estación. València-Nord, un espacio de modernidad (1917–2017) [Encounters at the station. València-Nord, a modern space (1917-2017)] offers a historical, artistic and social perspective of this iconic Valencian train station, designed by architect Demetrio Ribes Marco.
Organised by the Valencian Ministry of Housing, Public Works and Territorial Planning via the Cátedra Demetrio Ribes, with the collaboration of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, ADIF and Valencia City Council, this exhibition is organised around various aspects of the Estación del Norte, from the figure of Demetrio Ribes as the architect to day-to-day life in the station, via the plans for the station, its architecture and its ornamentation.
The exhibition offers a selection of vintage and current photographs, plans, original ceramic pieces and a never-before-seen model of the station, all of which reflect the different sides of this iconic building, which turned one hundred in 2017.
